I sincerely appreciate the advice for how to handle the diaper/clothes changing "alligator roll" (very fitting description 3B, 2B, 1B) but this is how the something to hold strategy goes over in our house. Lol

The key isn't just something to hold, it has to be entertaining to them. Try something novel or that lights up/plays music.

For the record, he is after my cell phone all the time but whenever I hand it over it ends up in the floor in less than 5 seconds too.
That is so funny! Desitin is enough to keep my little guy entertained followed by some of the fischer price barnyard animals, a comb, and the plastic travel-top to a bottle when I'm desperate. He ate Desitin the other day while I was changing, though, so it's now out of the rotation.
Haha - Stells does that sometimes too, though she'll usually hold onto things for a LITTLE bit at least!! Silly boy.

we gave up on the changing table a while back and have been perfecting the art of the standing diaper change.
Ha-ha! At least you were able to give him a couple of things, most of the time baby G does the alligator roll (love that description!) almost immediately.
Sometimes if the thing I give him is really interesting we might be able to change his diaper in one try...
Haha!! That happens in our house some too, but for the most part it works long enough to get a diaper changed. He just likes to keep you entertained by changing his diaper AND handing him 53 things to throw on the floor! :)
